About The Artwork

Through epochs and centuries Keys from the keyboard are a symbol information of thoughts and words that are carried through Internet space. Gradually they turn in stones that don’t carry any information. The lack of Internet in our gadgets makes them practically useless stone. Time turns living things, plants, and trees to stone. Once upon a time, dinosaurs ran around the earth, millions of years later they turned into minerals, including oil, which is made of plastic. In my work, I used plastic keys and a stone as a symbol of dependence and interconnectedness, the past from the present, people from technology, the individual from the Internet When the gadget’s phone goes out, when the Internet is unavailable, people in the modern world begin to feel anxious. The device that connected you to the world becomes a useless stone in your hands.

Hello, I’m Staysha. I’m an artist, based in Moscow. Find me on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and LinkedIn. See you around on the internet! The author of the project, Anastasia Ivanova, is an artist and designer with higher art education in Graphics and Easel graphics. I create art panels in the mosaic style at the intersection of art and e-waste recycling. The main idea of the project is to transfer energy and “memory” of the material using symbols captured in pictures, give the viewer the freedom to interpret each canvas as they see it. The project is under development. On the roadmap there are addition of new materials and work on art objects to make them technological and interactive. Collection and search for new materials is quite labor-intensive, but it also has philosophical significance and research for me as an artist.
