Please note this giclee print is part of a very limited production batch of 6 prints. JOY Bomb London was founded in 2020 by artist Amy Broch who explores the themes of love, death, and sex in the context of 21st-century femininity. The works are born out of the artist's personal experience of losing her husband to a two-year battle with ALS, which left her grappling with the complexities of grief and loss. Through her art, the artist seeks to interrogate the ways in which women are both consumers and consumed by contemporary society. Her work is characterized by a bold, confrontational aesthetic that draws on a range of media, including painting, sculpture, and performance art. One of the key themes that runs through the artist's work is the idea of joy as an act of resistance. In a world that can often feel overwhelming and oppressive, she sees the pursuit of joy as a radical act of defiance, a way of asserting agency and taking control of one's own narrative. At the same time, the artist does not shy away from the darker aspects of human experience. Her work often explores the ways in which love, death, and sex can be both sources of pleasure and pain, and how they are intertwined with power and control. Overall, JOY Bomb London's art is a powerful testament to the resilience and creativity of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Through her work, she challenges us to think deeply about the world we live in and our place within it, and to embrace joy and pleasure as acts of resistance and self-expression.
