About The Artwork

Objects take a shapeless dimension, not literally but in the operative mode – outside form and content null and void, they melt, purge meaning as they cease to become something. It no longer is an object having sense. A greasy mantle of unfamiliarity cuts deep into the flesh of cognition, to the point of being a haunting entity in the field of vision. It evokes a presentiment of something which resists symbolization , yet carries only a vague notion of semblance. Right at this point appears the first taste of estrangement, a sort of disappointment – consciousness groping for a snug corner, until at the end of the dark corridor it stumbles on something that fuses all duality. Sometimes it is a timeless residue of nondegradable waste singling itself out as wholly other in its resoluteness of not to be assimilated in any category or class and by the same token being the product of the mechanisms of such classifications, thereby unmasking the arbitrariness of history. Sometimes the objects are like nothing or the lost thing that is no-thing, that which was never there in the first place and remains unknown for ever as vestige of the real allowing a foundation for desire to set up through fantasy. Here birth turns into death, the nine months of womb converge on the emblem of the phallus, pointing upward in bunch erect and mortal, origin of agony burgeons into pleasure vice versa. Meaning like spittle slips through the fingers of senses. Dismembered part objects are charred in the hand of the sorcerer to yield scars on reality only to leave behind traces of his irrevocable time, like memory’s wound or buried fossils in the wilderness of his skull.

As an artist, I seek to address the debates on various areas of philosophy ranging from 'possible worlds' relationships to 'personal identity'. But what I find to be the centre of interest is the nature and workings the human mind, especially consciousness and cognition because, as I see it, creation and appreciation of all art necessarily involve human experience rooted in consciousness.
