Earth in Beauty, Dressed Installation

Earth in beauty dressed Awaits returning spring. WB Yeats Earth in Beauty Dressed, is an acrylic painting on fabric, measuring 9 feet wide and 120 feet long. The title is based on the poem, Her Anxiety, by WB Yeats. It is a melancholy poem, about how love becomes diminished with time. It echoes the feeling, like the Japanese cherry blossom, that beauty and beautiful moments are short lived, and that life is not eternal. This installation captures waves of Springtime, as if Spring is a curtain which races across the Earth, enveloping us in its presence as it arrives, even as it short lived. Painted over a period of 5 months, the scale of the painting required me to be fully immersed in the process of working.
