Approached by HBO to create an original artwork for a Game of Thrones Gallery exhibition in East London due to the air of magical realism and colours in my work. The piece now developed from this original piece which took weeks to make is in the form of a large book with wooded front cover and combines intricately layered papercut pages representing different scenes from GOT which are both separate and intertwined. The piece aims to represent the air of intrigue and mystery of the story. The pages, when illuminated, spotlight details of different key scenes carved into the book which then blend into the background when the light changes and other scenes become apparent like a miniature theatre. It is however also effective during the day with the light from a window on it. Please not the size displayed is when it is closed, when it is open the width is about 40 inches depending on how you decide to display it. The piece now for sale is a limited edition papercut piece. It can be delivered at the beginning of June to you. Please contact for more details.

Emmie is a mixed media artist whose inspiration comes from journeys, mystical tales and the bizarre sights she has encountered. These may be the crumbling beauty of Cuban buildings, the sensory kaleidoscope of India or the time echoing features of Istanbul. Her work often examines the transitory nature of architecture from its planning and construction to its ruins and its structure revealed. It has been said that a building is ‘a volume of human history, holding within its pages the stories and secrets of generations past and present’. The world the artist creates is one in which buildings both within and without are permeated with the disparate details of the lives of their former inhabitants. Emmie works with a number of galleries and is represented in London and Internationally by Quantum Gallery in the last year she has shown in New York, Miami, Hong Kong and Singapore. She takes on a variety of commissions and teaching opportunities. For more information please visit: www.emmievb.com
