Little Girls Gone Wild

This project aims to comment on the increased
sexualization of children in media.

It visualizes a dystopia of a society, an exaggeration of an
increasing trend. It also comments on a new young-peoples
disease – exhibitionism.

By stepping on the laws of morality, this project aims to
question where the line is supposed to be drawn. What do
you think?

Born 1973 in Norway. Lives and work in Oslo. I work with sculpture, objects and installation. The inspiration often emanates from subject matter concerning politics and contemporary questions. I aim to comment and create an arena for reflections. Conceptual contemporary ceramic. My aim is to renew the esthetics of the ceramic sculpture, and its role in the contemporary art scene. Visually the goal is to make something I have never seen before, and the works often have a surrealistic expression. To explore and experiment with different materials and medias, is a central part of my artistic venue. The works often have a machine-made and mass-produced character to imitate a commercial aesthetic expression. Readymades and found objects are either uses as they are, or casted in porcelain. It can therefore be hard to determine what is casted and what is the original. A duality often used in my works to challenge our perception of reality.
