Marianne Kemp is a textile artist specialized in weaving horsehair using self-developed technique. Kemp’s technique enables her to add volume to her weaving creating three-dimensional works formed on the loom. The three-dimensional weaving technique applied to the natural fibres can create works that bristle, sway catch light and cast shadows. Marianne harnesses these qualities to create art that works in a space. The mood she creates through her choice of texture, color and rhythm can vary from tranquil ans calming to playful and loud. The weavings can be applied to three-dimensional objects and installations but M. also produces textiles for interior design purposes for example wall panels.
