About The Artwork
"The Machine that Wanted to Paint" is the title of a polyptych made up of four pieces that function as stand-alone paintings but are formally and conceptually linked. Images visually connected like a puzzle. Each painting could also be presented as a single piece that comes together in the exhibition space. In each canvas yellow, pink, and gold elements are repeated, superimposed onto the black shapes outlined against the raw canvas. I would like to offer the opportunity to the collectors to get the entire installation with a great price advantage.

My work extends in parallel through various artistic media, but painting has always been my main form of production. My growing interest in the performing arts has given rise to a painting style that is increasingly open, both technically and conceptually. One the one hand, the kind of images I make has evolved over the years, based on an attitude not unlike action painting, which has gradually purified the forms and given rise to a self-contained painting style. It is no longer gestural, since it is not based on spontaneity or the expressiveness of the materials. Instead, it has developed a strong tendency to mimesis, to the simulation of gesture and its effects through the precision of drawing.
