2018-2024 100% waste: discarded Actimel bottles, leftover buttons, bits, bobs, fruit nets, ringpulls, old business cards and a whole lot of stitching, crocheting and loving on a few layers. Half of the original 1x2m eco-experimental piece made in 2018(?), which could be rolled onto itself and easily carried under one arm. This eco-installation, made rollable with rigid materials, went unappreciated by the NYC gallery it was created for, and it was one of those pieces never quite finished, never quite right. So now it is halved, reworked, patched up and installed onto leftover board pieces and it looks just as it was meant to be! Representing nature in its nemesis, an abundance of diversity in shapes and colours which will forever remind us of how Summer used to be before plastic, pollution and deforestation caused these drastic changes we are already beginning to see, made with the very own material which caused them.

Eco-artivist, Rubbish artist. Mosaicist. Pioneering sustainable art, turning waste into art. Founder of Art for Trash© and payment in Kind(ness)©. Torn between optimism and surrender, I am haunted by the idea of mankind’s imminent self-destruction. Yet, I believe in a future for humanity of resourceful innovation through re-thinking, re-purposing and reducing. It is this hope that I flaunt in my work, which is made out of waste. I thoroughly enjoy working within the ethical and material limitations involved, using materials which often take years to gather. They call for a constant and ingenuous adaptation, and every tessera I create is in itself a protest against our current disposable lifestyle, keeping my carbon footprint to the bare minimum and providing a different perspective on rubbish: from waste to wonder. I hope to inspire real change, and a move from an unsustainable anthropocentric society to an all-encompassing circular economy focused on the common good of the whole eco-system. Your bin is my Trashure chest and I would love to flaunt it on your walls! Please enquire for commissions - I love to play outside my confort zone and I never disappoint.
