ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In "A Glance After Desire," Zoe Lunar transports us to a space where time and reality intertwine, revealing the multifaceted nature of human experience. The image of the woman, seemingly reclining with her arms behind her head and her gaze fixed into the infinite, suggests a moment of reflection that transcends the tangible. Her doubled eyes symbolize the different realities that reside within the same being, those created and dissolved in the echo of desire. Time in this work is not linear but a series of overlapping layers, each harboring a different version of reality, a fragment of what is longed for and what is obtained. Lunar invites us to question what we see, to explore how desire shapes our perception of the present and the future, creating parallel worlds that exist only in the mind and heart. This piece captures not only a moment of introspection but also reflects the fleeting nature of reality, always subject to the influence of desire and the passage of time, separating and uniting our gazes, our lives, our truths.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
