ABOUT THE ARTWORK

An antique alleyway perspective evokes a sense of history and nostalgia, with narrow, cobblestone streets flanked by old, weathered buildings. The alley is framed by tall, uneven walls, adorned with vines creeping up stone facades or faded brick. The buildings may feature arched doorways, wrought iron balconies, and wooden shutters with peeling paint, reflecting years of weathering. The lighting is soft, perhaps from warm, vintage street lamps casting a golden hue, illuminating the aged textures and casting long, dramatic shadows. The pathway narrows as it recedes into the distance, offering a glimpse of something hidden—perhaps a small courtyard, an old shop sign, or a glimpse of an archway. Dust lingers in the air, and the sound of footsteps echoes faintly, enhancing the sense of solitude and mystery. Time feels suspended in this quiet, ancient corridor.

I’m Tina Ngo, born and raised in Dallas, TX am a tape artist, a designer, and a technologist. Raised by an Asian immigrant family, growing up there were cultural, corporate and societal expectations that needed to be met, I’ve always colored within the lines of others. Leveraging lines of tape, I’m now create my own lines and path and defining boundaries, balancing structure with expression. Small pieces of tape represent the constant decisions, some permanent, some adjustable that ultimately form the building blocks to the bigger picture. The further you take a step back, the clarity the picture to take a more objective perspective. I now say to those, “Let’s create our own lines.”
