I see the world in a way not everyone does. When I painted this peony, I saw it in blue — even though this flower does not exist in that color in real life. The petals were painted with acrylic, while the contours, the center, and the stem were created using textured paste. The background was poured...

I am an artist who once dreamed of becoming one. I was born and raised in a small village in the Khmelnytskyi region of Ukraine, where I spent hours watching my uncle paint and wanted to do the same. There was no art school in my village, so I learned by observing him, then by experimenting on my own — first with pencils and markers in a notebook, later with gouache on paper boards. I remember the joy when something turned out well and the quiet sadness when it didn’t. I once dreamed of studying to be an artist, but fear held me back — I was afraid I wouldn’t succeed. So I chose to study Interior Design instead. I earned a Master’s degree in Design, but never worked as a designer, because the artist inside me always wanted to create with my hands. For a while, I was deeply fascinated by epoxy resin — it’s also a wonderful form of art that gave me valuable experience and opened a new world for me. But I kept being drawn back to acrylics, and eventually, I stopped resisting. Now I live near Kyiv, surrounded by light, trees, and open space. I paint everywhere — at home, by the window, or outside in nature. Light is essential for me; I need to feel harmony with the place I paint in, because that harmony always shows up on the canvas. My inspiration comes from the living world — animals, fish, birds, butterflies. I don’t choose them consciously; they simply come to me. Ideas often appear at night, when everything is quiet, and I can almost see the painting forming in my mind. I work mostly with acrylics, textured paste, and oil, often using a palette knife — I love the thick, tactile strokes that give the painting dimension and life. My style is bright and colorful, because color is my way of feeling and living. I surround myself with color in everything — in clothes, interiors, even the buildings where I live. Color gives me joy, energy, and inspiration. My paintings are the warmest, brightest parts of me. When they find their new homes, I want them to bring light, warmth, and quiet happiness — to become a small piece of color and soul in someone’s life.
