Jean-Claude Dery is a Canadian artist born in 1964 in Montreal, Quebec. He began his artistic journey in 1994, working with watercolor, pencil, and traditional brush techniques—foundations that continue to shape his sense of atmosphere, movement, and emotion. Over the years, he has exhibited in galleries throughout Montreal and across Quebec, developing a distinctive visual language rooted in sensitivity and expressive energy. His works are held in private collections in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia. His practice is strongly focused on abstract painting, where he explores emotion, rhythm, and depth through expressive gestures, layered texture, and bold contrasts of light and color. Each piece is created to feel alive—inviting the viewer into a space of memory, intensity, and quiet contemplation.
