ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Claim 102" is a striking large-format abstract painting from my "Organic Grounds" series, measuring 100x150 cm. This piece explores the dynamic interplay between vibrant colors and textured surfaces, embodying a sense of energy, growth, and natural beauty. The painting is dominated by a bright and lively color palette, with warm yellows and reds blending seamlessly with greens, blues, and earthy tones. The colors are applied in dense, organic layers, creating a richly textured surface that evokes the feeling of a flourishing landscape. The layered paint creates depth, encouraging the viewer’s eye to travel across the canvas, discovering new details and patterns at every glance. The composition of "Claim 102" reflects my ongoing fascination with nature’s organic processes. The colors appear to grow and evolve across the canvas, much like the natural world they draw inspiration from. There is a sense of spontaneous movement in the way the colors shift and blend, yet the overall composition remains balanced and harmonious. Texture plays a crucial role in this painting, with the paint applied in such a way that the surface feels almost tactile. The viewer is invited to explore the intricacies of the layers, which build upon each other to create a sense of organic flow and movement. The painting shifts depending on the viewer's distance from the canvas, revealing finer details up close while maintaining its bold, vibrant impact from afar. "Claim 102" is a celebration of color, texture, and the beauty of organic forms. The painting invites viewers to immerse themselves in its dynamic composition, offering a visually stimulating and emotionally resonant experience.

I'm Mark Hellbusch, an artist based in Wiesbaden. My studio, Atelier Hellbusch, is a creative space where I not only make art but also share my passion by offering painting courses for art enthusiasts. Over the years, I've developed various collections, each exploring different themes and techniques. Some of my notable series include: "Organic Grounds" (since 2018): This collection delves into organic structures and nature, portrayed in abstract forms and vibrant colors. "Marsfeld" (since 2010): In this series, I experiment with landscape concepts, often incorporating a surreal touch. "Splash!" (since 2018): Known for its dynamic and bold paint splashes, this series aims to convey energy and movement. "Der Farbkasten" (since 2008): A series of intense, abstract paintings celebrating the diversity of the color palette. "Am Ende Grün" (since 2023): Modern, abstract works exploring various shades of green and their psychological effects. Exhibitions and Feedback I regularly organize exhibitions at ARTLET, my showroom in downtown Wiesbaden. It has been heartening to receive positive feedback from both art critics and visitors. I strive to create art that resonates emotionally and philosophically, often through an intense use of color.
