SERIES: COREL PAINTER 2019 digital painting Brasília, 2019 Digital painting performed with the Corel Painter 2019 sotware on a Wacon Intuos tablet. Fine art print on Canson Hag paper or Canvas. Limited edition. Corel Painter, which was once Fractal Painter, is an artistic creation software that emulates concrete tools and techniques such as painting, watercolor, oil painting, pastel, etc., in a virtual environment. To do so, you must use a tablet, such as Wacon, which has pressure settings for the digital pen, which allows the final effect to approximate the result obtained with the concrete materials. I've been working with software since the 1990s of the last millennium, and despite many improvements and innovations, the essence remains the same. In fact, in this area, the most significant changes occurred on the Wacon tablet, which went from 2,000 sensitivity levels to 4,000, making virtual emulation of artistic materials much more compelling. Although the first experiments with digital art go back to the decade of 1950, until now the artistic medium seems to have difficulties in accepting it completely like a valid and significant technique for the production of works of art. There is a lot of ignorance on the part of collectors and gallery owners, who imagine that computers do all the work themselves, which obviously is not true. Computers are tools, it is those who operate them who perform creative work, which can be as complex and dense as any work of art done in the studio. In addition, printing processes have become extremely efficient and sophisticated in the last decades, with the development of Fine Art printing, a system made with mineral paints of great durability and permanence, in neutral pH papers made from linen fibers, or high quality cotton and linen canvas (manufacturers claim that the printed image must remain unchanged for more of 150 years, which we can not prove since the technique was fully developed less than 10 years). The end result is really impressive. A few months ago I acquired the latest version of the software, the Corel Painter 2019, and with it I developed this series of digital paintings that I now virtually expose. The work follows the line of research on color and form that I developed a few years ago and explores the virtual sense of volume (impasto) that the digital environment provides. The final result is an image very similar to a concrete image obtained with paint, spatula and brushes, although the sensation of materiality is a digital illusion generated by the correct arrangement of light and shadow. Each image of the series can be printed on both fine art paper and canvas fine art, as well as can be printed in sizes ranging from 10x10cm, up to 1x1m, so just contact us by email . The purchase, for the safety of both the collector and the artist, will normally be carried out by Saatchi's website, after redefining the print settings. Each copy is manually signed by the artist and accompanied by a guarantee certificate regarding the printing process used, in addition to the certificate of authenticity provided by Saatchi.
