I was born in a small village outside Shenzhen in the Guangdong province in southern China. When I was only a few years old I escaped from the People's Republic of China, with my family to live in Hong Kong during the Great Leap Forward. This was a time of great suffering for the Chinese people under an economic and social plan which aimed to use China's vast population to rapidly transform mainland China from a primarily agrarian economy dominated by peasant farmers into a modern, industrialized communist society. This era of change inspires my back to nature scenes and how pre-industrial landscapes felt.I have been a British resident since 1978. I have taught Southern Praying Mantis kung fu (7th generation) Yellow Dragon fist kung fu (Founder), tai chi, chi kung, feng shui and meditation. Otherwise, I am painting and producing music. Ultimately I am helping people achieve enlightenment through my painting.://:// depravation in the early part of my life motivated my to practice and perfect my martial arts to strengthen my poor health and artistically realize my full potential. After perfecting my artistic style for the last 30 years I am back - with a spiritual resolve and self expression, inspired by Taoist artistic style which has inspired humanity over the last 1000 years, both culturally and spiritually, from the peak of the Tang Dynasty.I am inspired by the interrelationship between Taoism and Buddhism's thought and ways of seeing reality, and my Yellow dragon system pays respect to this. I have intertwined my Yellow Dragon martial art with my creative philosophy and aim to combine the best of Eastern and Western philosophy in my artwork. One main technique, that accentuates my Taoist artistic style is the splash ink method, originated from Wang Qia, the Tang Dynasty. The paint is spontaneously and subtly controlled: understood by the Taoist as a hypnotic state that highlights momentary existence and non existence - expressing the sentiment of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra that form is emptiness and emptiness is form, thus, depicting man's relationship and interconnectedness with the cosmos.I developed my talents as an artist, into the spiritual realm by developing as a Taoist and Buddhist Master. When I was a young artist I did not merely want to be an artist, but rather sought to develop a deeper state of consciousness from my life experiences, and so to create a deeper profundity in my artwork when returning to my practise."....
