"They took his clothes." They stripped him naked, for the purpose of bringing shame and humiliation to him. Jesus himself knows--firsthand--the degradation experienced by survivors of sexual violence. The punishment Jesus endured was designed to wield ultimate power over its victims in every sense. And Jesus overcame that. He desires new life--a resurrection--for those whose lives have been forever marred by violence. I remember being at the Women's March in Philadelphia the day after Trump was inaugurated. It was a sea of pink, I'll never forget it. I rode in on the train from Lansdale with a friend from a church I'd been attending where being a feminist did not make me a black sheep. The 2017 Women's March was its own resurrection, of sorts. It is one I hope brings new life to the intersection between the church and the feminist movement. #metoo
