Late one evening a gathering of crows were heard loudly exchanging calls as passersby clambered to their night's plans at the local pubs and restaurants. The crows ignored the people and the people ignored the crows. It is one of the last photos snapped before sheltering in place became the new norm for me. As days extended to weeks, I wondered what the crows might think of the decrease in human presence. I imagine them conversing just as loudly, perhaps with a different topic. This piece is three layers: A pine veneer stained orange yellow (engraved with black shadows), a layer of clear glass, and a final layer of clear plastic (engraved and painted blue). Currently, it is assembled in a plain black frame.

"It is vital that my artwork has merging elements, I strive for abstract color movements interacting with recognizable figures. Emotion, to me, is this way, formed and unformed working together. Before I start painting, I dig deep into what I'm feeling, what I've gone through, how it has changed and shaped me. I look for common ground with my fellow travelers. With every piece, I try to tap into and connect to the human experience."
