Drop is an artist’s book, created as a unique piece, autographed on the back cover. It consists of 16 pages that, when spread out, become a single rectangular artwork and can be kept both in its original book art format or can be framed as a normal work of art. I used mixed media and collage on old upcycled paper. My book art finds its inspiration from the recovery of old paper and other material. Drop (Goccia is the original title in Italian) was created while experimenting with colors and shapes in search for harmony. It is a very playful piece of art, mainly based on two shapes I particularly love, the circle (often appearing in my works) and the drop.

I am an Italian artist and illustrator. My works depict a world in which reality is represented through metaphorical and psychological images. My interest is focused on issues related to the psyche. I'm interested in feelings, emotions and troubles of the soul. My subjects show a fragile humanity, not out of inner weakness but out of a natural vocation. The use of vibrant colors and bold contrasts, alongside the mélange of various media, enable me to create a complex world where reality coexists with metaphorical elements, the surreal and psychological; a world that can be interpreted in a variety of levels. I work on paper, cardboard and canvas using mixed media: monotype, collage, graphite, acrylic, pastels, grattage. Environmental problems are a topic that I hold dear and all my artistic production develops around the idea of recovering and recycling poor and discarded materials. I find inspiration in paper as a material, and I use discarded magazines, clippings of my drawings or monotypes, old printed papers and envelopes.
