About The Artwork

This painting is inspired by a book I read a long time ago at school called: "Escenarios Fantasticos" by Spanish author Joan Manuel Gisbert . The first part of the book talks about a retired old gentleman that lives in front of an also old and decommissioned factory. He spends many hours looking through his window creating and imagining mystery stories that take place in the confines of the factory. The painting is an abstraction of how I imagine the factory to be in the early hours of the morning. The sky is grey and the colors are muted. There is movement. Cogs are turning and there are clouds of steam.
