About the Artist

Jeong Yongtae

South Korea

Welcome to my world of art. My name is Jeong Yongtae, and I am an artist based in Tongyeong and Busan, South Korea.

Growing up in Tongyeong, a city known for its rich heritage in traditional Korean art, I was immersed in the world of Najeonchilgi(mother-of-pearl lacquerware) from a young age. Najeonchilgi, or mother-of-pearl inlay art, has been a part of my life since childhood, and I have had the privilege of learning this traditional craft from seasoned artisans in my community.

In addition to my passion for Najeonchilgi, I have also ventured into the realm of Western painting, honing my skills over the years to receive prestigious national awards. My dedication to both Western painting and Najeonchilgi has allowed me to create unique artworks that seamlessly blend the two traditions, offering viewers a harmonious fusion of East and West.

Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my achievements, including winning the Director's Prize from the Western Painting Culture and Arts Promotion Institute for my outstanding contributions to the field of Western painting.

I am deeply inspired by the beauty of nature, the rich cultural heritage of Korea, and the vibrant colors and textures found in both Western and traditional Korean art. Each piece I create is a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and the harmony I seek to achieve between different artistic traditions.

Thank you for visiting my profile, and I hope you enjoy exploring my artworks. If you have any questions or would like to inquire about purchasing a piece, please feel free to contact me. Your support means the world to me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my art with you.

Thank you!
