"Equilibre" is a work belonging to a series of 17 paintings devoted to dance. Here, the ballerina is dressed in a classic way, with a tutu. The title of the painting comes from the position adopted by the dancer, who is both balanced on tiptoe with her arms outstretched, but who also seems to be holding in balance by a magnetic force two stone squares that have detached themselves from her wrists. The painting is produced in a mixed technique on canvas and combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glossy lacquered glazes and squares in relief); it is a unique piece and it comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is signed both on the front (on the ankle of the ballerina) and on the back of the canvas, which is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 136 x 81 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 80 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
