About The Artwork

It is said by Marlowe, Goethe and by numerous others of Hogwarts commonality that Dr Faustus desired to commune with the Devil of his indoctrinated faith. Having made the necessary antithesis preparations of Christian formulation, he retired one night to a crossroads within the Spesser Forest near Wittenberg, during the Witching hours. Whereupon he set about designing certain circles with his staff, via which he Performance Art conjured up his patriarchal Devil, to otherwise name as, Mephistopheles. But for a Surrealist sorcerer who be a truer rebel, he would have no interest, whatsoever, in conjuring up the Devil of the Elder God patriarchs to sell his Soul to of a continuing brainwash; for it merely validates the symbolic thesis of a Playgirl gender fixation upon their deified Animus made as a God/Devil. Hence a rebellious Surrealist sorcerer, such as Dr Faustus would in reality conjure up his Fallen Anima, to mantra name, Mephistophina, who to then manifest along with her Playboy Succubi Great Old Ones within his Necronomicon lucid dreams. Whereby enabling Dr Faustus to win back his Anima of a Soul, whom be his arcane Art Muse. Should you understand what the deified 'Animus' and fallen 'Anima' represents, you will understand the cosmic joke. NOTE: The tattoo upon Mephistophina's left shoulder is a traditional grimoire sigil, which is attributed to Mephistopheles. The parchment shown amidst the Triangle Of Art, upon the floor depicts the seal of MEPHISTO_PHILES. The seal is derived from the 1527 Praxis Magia Faustiana, which is said to have been authored by Faust.

Mardun is principally a Surrealist Artist, whose author's name is Faustus Crow; but both art and writing alchemically merge of a sacred wedding. Mardun has an experiential interest in lucid dreaming, which of a neurological phenomenon has inspired artists and authors throughout the ages, from whose creations since the time of the painted cave wall of a Shaman have sprung insights into the nature of reality, which became ensuing mystical traditions, such as the occultism of Aleister Crowley to that of the Surrealist 'fantasy fiction' of H.P Lovecraft. Mardun does not see a division between the practices of art and magic; for both practices deal with symbolism, which is the subconscious language form of surrealist dreams and of your fantastic Imagination, which also inspires your culture.
