This mixed media piece was made on a vintage plate base, curated in Portobello Road Market. And a victorian woman ceramic plaque curated in Cornwall vintage market. "For the love of a Rose” is simple symbiosis. Accented with lush roses in vibrant tones, she romantically gazes off to the side, away...

About the Artist

Danic Lago

United Kingdom

Danic Lago is a Brazilian artist based in London, working with mixed media collage. Her practice is rooted in over 25 years of creative experience developed across Switzerland, Mexico, and the UK, shaped by an early career in fashion trend research and close collaborations with European and Brazilian designers.

Her work explores strength and emotion shaped by the intuition of the divine feminine. Using textiles, colour, and found objects, Danic creates layered compositions that function as visual poetry, handmade narratives that invite reflection, curiosity, and personal interpretation. Each piece unfolds slowly, revealing meaning through subtle symbolism.

Central to her practice is sacred transformation. By reusing and reimagining everyday materials,I breathe new life into what might otherwise be overlooked or discarded. This process-driven approach allows me to create works that feel both intimate and expansive, grounded in the physical world yet resonant with spiritism and otherworldy beauty.

My mixed media works are not intended to be passively viewed, but experienced. They exist as spaces of dialogue between artist, material, and viewer. Through layering, I construct pieces that balance the deeply personal with the universally felt, encouraging viewers to bring their own stories and sensations into the work.

Ultimately, my practice is an exploration of connection: between materials and meaning, real and spiritual, inner life and shared experience. My work seeks to awaken moments of quiet transformation through the language of touch, texture, and storytelling.
