I am always creating. In work, play, and in the practice of painting, I strive to express the complexity and texture of life. I've had many professions as a creative person: stylist, creative director, publisher, and writer. This diversity has extended to my painting practice in the mixed media of oil paint, torn paper, cardboard, burlap, pastels, charcoal, and plaster in various combination. An appreciation of art history and literature inspires me in my writing life and painting life.
The Faceless Series is mixed media collage. A live model sat for most pieces, however I have chosen to omit or minimize specificity, likeness, and personality allowing impression to take precedence.
