Fine Print in Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm Paper The landscape is much more than a backdrop where the action takes place, it is also something in the order of action, contemplating space-time dimensions that encapsulate a series of social, technological and aesthetic elements. With the emergent and ubiquitous algorithmic logic, we have to consider these elements as agents and as part of the landscape. For this, the work explores the use of Artificial Intelligence systems for poetic creation. The work consists of three different processes, in which each feeds the next one with its results. The first is a performance that culminates in an algorithmic walk around two different cities: Paris, France and Caxias do Sul, Brazil. This action produces more than 10,000 images, used as a data set. The second part consists of the analysis of these images by machine learning software created for this work. The software does a reverse image search and finds the most similar locations in the two geographically distant cities. Then, the images are combined at different levels of opacity, revealing the intermediate place. Thus, a video is generated, frame by frame, that explores the dimensions of the landscape taking into account the algorithmic layer that composes it.
