Grifit artwork is inspired by a double point of view of the world we perceive. Both worlds are visible yet we can only observe one world at a time. When the worlds intersect they form an extra dimension in space. Grifit depicts a rippling sphere split across into two halves that change colour spectrum in various lighting conditions. Handcrafted on glass with delicate holographic metallic film and mounted in a minimalist white wooden frame with an exchangeable backing. The "Grifit" artpiece is an array of lines forming a symmetrical cube geometry. The metallic film medium catches the light in a stunning way and changes its appearance with the intensity of the interior illumination adding an extra dimension to any space. With an unyielding passion for art, Mefio delves into the world of overlaid polychromatic metallic films on shatterproof glass. Mefio's creations, born from meticulous layering and film manipulation, reveal vibrant color interplay and depth, a dance of light and shadow. Grounded in Minimalist abstract art, Mefio crafts abstract artworks using geometric shapes, employing the goniochromatic effect for iridescence. Utilizing glass, metallic films, and resin, the art pieces are constructed with refined outlines, sharp angles, and geometry. My exploration of contrasting hues and textures explores the nexus of form, color, and composition, pushing artistic boundaries to reveal the limitless potential of geometric shapes. Zuzana's technique of metallic film overlay is derived from a combination of gilding, decals, foiling and carefully applied glazes-a special blending of techniques which make Mefio artworks so unique. She has a studio space at home in Kingston where she can relax, listen to music and regularly experiment with ideas and new materials. Graduating from the Arts University Bournemouth in 2008 with a BA in Modelmaking, she was interested in artwork from a young age and has gained experience with many materials such as metals, resins, ceramics and computer-generated artwork. These invaluable skills later contributed to the founding of a successful online business specializing in wedding favors and decorative glassware. Mefio studio was a natural progression and creative outlet for Zuzana's interest and passion for creating original artworks.
