ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My granddaughter posed for me and I have used the photo to create the art work. I remember myself as a 13 year old, on the cusp to adulthood. I never considered myself a GIRL. I was a person. But with hormones starting to act, I felt a shift and inclined to look at myself as a girl. I certainly became interested in boys. But what does that entail? That I lost my personhood? That I looked at myself in relation to boys? A time that changed me from a self-confident person to a shy teenager. I have used oil, paper and wallpaper on board to create my work. The patterns signify the girl's transition into adulthood, where all is categorized from A to Z. The board is handmade craftsmanship and I use only top quality media and materials.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

My work is part of Nordic storytelling. I am inspired by fairytale, folklore, and ancestry. I express how our identity is formed in childhood, and how we are shaped to be who we are at that time. I find inspiration in literally figures, such as Hans Christian Andersen, Karen Blixen, and Søren Kierkegaard. I explore affiliation and where and how we belong.
