“Immortality” belongs to a series devoted to transhumanism, which is a project aimed at augmenting the human being and making it into a sort of ultra-sophisticated machine that can be improved and repaired infinitely. The human figure disappears behind technology, each organ, each part of the body becomes like a puzzle piece that can be recombined infinitely. Here, the transformation of the human body is presented in an environment which has remained "solid", with as counterpoint a skull which has also remained intact and which seems to oppose the immortality promised by transhumanism: contemporary vanity where the fight against death remains uncertain... This painting is a unique piece made in mixed technique on canvas. It combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and approximately 300 transparent relief squares). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 61 x 88 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
