About The Artwork

A woman without a face, or more precisely with a masked, concealed, covered face, a woman whose identity or feelings or thoughts we cannot know because precisely her head is hidden from us... Such a woman, even naked, is in fact invisible, prisoner of a secret straitjacket. This artwork was made in mixed media on canvas. It combines photography, digital art and acrylic painting (lacquered glaze and relief squares), it is a unique piece and it is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The painting is framed in black wood (dimensions: 57 x 37 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
