Mandy Koorneef was born in the Netherlands, and moved to Scotland many years ago. She looks for a balance between order and chaos, the rough and the smooth. She is fascinated by the inherent mathematical precision that lies at the root of all living things in the natural world, which comes out imperfect, but beautiful, perfectly adjusted to its environment. In Scotland examples abound of the forces of nature bending the straight lines, the exception being the rule. She started as a digital artist, and was featured in Computer Arts and 3D World magazine. These days she works with paint, paper, digital and anything else she can think of.
