«In 1958, the Bretton Woods system became fully functional as currencies became convertible. Countries settled international balances in dollars, and US dollars were convertible to gold at a fixed exchange rate of $35 an ounce. The United States had the responsibility of keeping the price of gold fixed and had to adjust the supply of dollars to maintain confidence in future gold convertibility. The Bretton Woods system was in place until persistent US balance-of-payments deficits led to foreign-held dollars exceeding the US gold stock, implying that the United States could not fulfill its obligation to redeem dollars for gold at the official price. In 1971, President Richard Nixon ended the dollar’s convertibility to gold.» All money is a matter of believe. The art studio was created by Andrey and Alexey Kulibin in 2020. Experimenting with various techniques, materials and forms, connecting the digital world with the physical, we have found unique artistic solutions that can draw attention to a number of topical issues. EXPLORING TOPICS The studio explores the topic of social transformation in a modern technological world, where a Human’s attention got the status of a commodity. Well-known corporations honed the skill of drawing and selling users' attention to advertisers. Technologies of maintaining attention of those in front of the screen are getting smarter every year, because there are hundreds of smart guys working (for good salaries) on the back end, and they do what their corporation's business model tells them. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest… All these giants share a common goal – financial enrichment. Attention mining is incredibly profitable. Polarization of society, fake news, ignorance, digital addiction, elections hacking- consequences of the influence of the policy of digital giants on the life of modern humanity. The inspiration to work on this topic came from the research of Dr. Andrey Kurpatov, as well as from the American director Jeff Orlowski with his feature films "The Social Dilemma", "Chasing Ice" and "Chasing Coral". TECHNIQUES AND MATERIALS Research on the properties of industrial materials over the past 2 years has led to the usage of a wide variety of techniques and forms. Due to the complexity of the art object, we managed to enhance the overall perception of the content and engage the viewer in a kind of dialogue.
