About the Artist
Alexandra Selwyn-Gray
I am a Danish artist that live and have my studio in London. My work is mainly facilitated though national and international residencies and I also exhibit both nationally and internationally.Research is the core of my practice, which is mainly expressed through artist video, performance, sculpture and installation. Recently a bridge has formed between all the disciplines which explore the notion of mediated presence and allow her to investigate the gaze and different ways of involving an audience.The work is mainly informed by iconography, the media, literature and the tradition of pre 20th century western painting and influenced by philosophy and theory, which responds to specific areas, traditions and cultures, questioning of moral and social values, sometimes with a sense of irony.
