About The Artwork
My daughter, Lola inspired my work. Every brush stroke had it’s own place and purpose. The meaning in this painting is something that was true to us all at one point in our lives. Lola imagines the butterflies, they are there to her. The parent looks away. The parent no longer has the imagination that child has and refuses to see it as they have grown up. The two ears and three butterflies creates a diamond shape. This shape helps to guide your gaze onto the center focus of the portrait.
