About The Artwork

" MONSOON MARLIN " My son has a large fishing boat called "MONSOON ". Each year just after Christmas he and his family spend a month up the mid north coast fishing for Marlin. This year while we were fishing one day a black marlin swam within arms length along side the boat and lifted it's head out of the water ( just like this painting ). Me being the mad keen fisherman / artist, thought to myself that I had to make a painting of this event. The colours represent the beep blue of the ocean then the swirling wash of the boat and above the beautiful clear sky of January. This sculpture / painting style is one of my favourite ways to express movement using solid colours and the texture tells the rest of the story. The painting is 122 cm wide 91 cm high and 4 cm deep. It is wired on the back ready to hang and has a Certificate of Authenticity.

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette. His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured plaster bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character. As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary abstract. He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination. His work is displayed in galleries on the Central Coast and in private collections. .
