“Maize” is a piece from an abstract artwork collection by Sean Savant. Each piece is inspired by Sean’s hometown in Indiana. Indiana is often referred to as a flyover state, with not much to it but corn, football, and flat fields. To Savant, Indiana is where he grew up, and is where his memories and experiences live. Each piece in this collection utilizes color palettes pulled from actual photographs Savant took of his hometown east of Indianapolis in the cornfields. Savant aims to create engaging works by utilizing abstract skills he learned through his graffiti practice, combined with lessons from his professional schooling in Digital Design. “Out here” is no exception. To those who may consider Indiana a sleeper boring flyover state, Savant aims to prove you wrong with this explosive collection.
