As my wife unpacked these organic treasures from the Farmers Market, the early morning light fell on them in a way that reminded me of Dutch Masters painting. And I just had to capture the historic scene using my unique dimensional style to give the viewer the feeling they can pluck a grape and enjo...

Patrick J. Murphy’s dimensional fine art is a unique combination of digital photography, sculpted paper, acrylics and pastels that result in eye-popping, three-dimensional impressionist pieces. His healing art work has the flavor of a Georgia O'Keefe painting infused with Murphy's childlike sense of discovery and playfulness. A nature lover, he paints with light — from the earth, woods, mist, shadows, sky, flowers and fire. Patrick is a classically-trained artist with a BFA from Chouinard Art Institute (California Institute of the Arts) where he attended on a Disney Scholarship. He then honed his talents, techniques and styles over a 35-year career in advertising and marketing. As an advertising agency president and creative director, Murphy wrote, produced and directed more than 500 commercials earning him numerous industry awards. Patrick’s original dimensional fine art works are custom sized to fit client needs. Each piece is professionally framed with floating mats, museum glass, archival paper, and gallery frame. A video of the work is available at: .html In addition to offering existing works to collectors, he is now accepting commercial and residential commissions: 619-838-1170 ARTIST'S STATEMENT "I was born with a powerful combination of artistic, entrepreneurial and spiritual interests, with “fire in the belly” for all three. My mother was a self-taught watercolorist who captured the most delicate flowers on small, napkin-sized paintings. She taught me how to work in that medium and also encouraged me to express my creativity in numerous other ways. As a child, I loved to create movies in my mind and express those visions through drawings, painting and 3-dimensional constructs. I took everything apart to see “how stuff worked” - from pocket watches to plants, insects, fish and foul. I particularly enjoyed examining the insides of fish and chickens even as I struggled to understand where and how “God’s energy” resided. And I enjoyed designing and building short wave radios, model airplanes, rockets, spaceships and other flying objects. Classmates lined up for me to draw on the covers of their notebooks and I developed a following for my air-brushed tee-shirts. In my teens, I designed and built custom cars, organized and promoted car shows in Las Vegas, booking bands and producing advertising campaigns. After college, I planned to become an architect.
