My Mountain Study series explore a somatic embodiment of geology, topography, mountains, canyons and watersheds. Built with water, wetted fabric is sculpted into the organic shapes and then quilt stitched into place. They are made from plant dyes fabrics which further connects the pieces to the natural world.

Elizabeth Robinson is a multidisciplinary artist working in textiles, natural dyeing, photography and printmaking. Her work explores themes of place and ecology through the lens of a naturalist, botanist and pattern seeker. With extraordinary attention to detail, Elizabeth’s work provides a sense of resolution through thoughtful choices, even when based on improvisation and intuitive shape making. Media includes reclaimed and antique fabrics, natural yarns, plant and insect dyes, cyanotype printing, and accent materials. With a design degree from the Art Institute of Portland, her professional path has weaved through costume design, jewelry and accessory design, tattooing, illustration, and the nonprofit world of art residencies. After living in the Pacific Northwest for most of her life and a short residency in Spain, Elizabeth now lives and works in Los Angeles.
