About The Artwork

Ocean Soul was created on a South African Navigation Chart of Cape Cross to Conception Bay. Sunkissed and Salty in her Blue and White bather with the Beach her happy place. The ocean, with its vastness and depth, mirrors the infinite nature of our souls. Its rhythmic waves resonate with the ebb and flow of our emotions and life experiences. Just as the ocean holds mysteries in its depths, our souls harbour profound truths and insights. Being drawn to the ocean can signify a yearning to connect with these more profound aspects of oneself, to find tranquillity amidst life’s chaos, and to be reminded of life’s boundless possibilities. It’s the combination of its vastness, its power, and the life it holds. The sea reminds us of nature’s grandeur and our smallness in the face of it. Whether standing at the shore, feeling the waves lap at our feet, or sailing its vast stretches, the ocean offers freedom, adventure, and connection to the Earth like no other.

Im a female artist from Cape Town, South Africa. I have been painting for the last 20 years, with no formal art education. My journey started with a box of Vintage Dress Patterns which was turned into a skirt on a metal wired Mannequin and from there to canvas. I have sold many pieces all over the world like Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Madagascar, San Francisco, New York etc. I have exhibited in London at the Art of Africa Gallery. Currently Im working with good old fashion Brown Paper and Vintage Navigation Charts. I only sketch woman and make use of pencils, charcoal and Acrylic paint.
