This piece has been inspired by T.S. Eliot 'The Wasteland' (that is one of my favourite poem) and the reminder of Devonian coastal storms by the sea. This painting is part of the series 'Exploring the sky and water'. This is a study of sky and water as primordial powers: abstract expressionism represents the delicate boundary that separates awareness from the unconscious, and the intersection of dream and actuality. Although the negative association embodies our primal fears, the vastness of these two components, which are typically considered as mere backdrops to our lives, can serve as sources of creativity and vitality. The abundant utilisation of metallic leaf in the collection generates a distinct visual impression at varying points throughout the day.
