About The Artwork

Om Shanti was created on a vintage Navigation Chart of Du Guadalquivir Au Cap Trafalgar. "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience" Keep living life to the fullest and take each new day as a new opportunity and remember that we are on earth for a reason and there should be no worry or no hurry to leave. Life on earth is about learning lessons. It is about using our talents to make the world better in some way. It is about loving yourself and others.  The spiritual meaning of a peacock includes beauty, new beginnings, protection, self-expression, as well as a spiritual awakening. Purple is the color most often associated with the third eye chakra, which relates to intuition and inner wisdom. Thus, purple flowers can symbolize an intuitive understanding or a deeper connection between the giver and receiver. Moths are symbols of transformation and rebirth. Many cultures view this as a metaphor for a positive transformation in your life, one that will lead to new spiritual wisdom. When a caterpillar becomes a moth, it loses its old self, but it gains the ability to fly.

Im a female artist from Cape Town, South Africa. I have been painting for the last 20 years, with no formal art education. My journey started with a box of Vintage Dress Patterns which was turned into a skirt on a metal wired Mannequin and from there to canvas. I have sold many pieces all over the world like Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Madagascar, San Francisco, New York etc. I have exhibited in London at the Art of Africa Gallery. Currently Im working with good old fashion Brown Paper and Vintage Navigation Charts. I only sketch woman and make use of pencils, charcoal and Acrylic paint.
