About The Artwork

Everyone told Irma, don't buy that cheap house by all the power lines and nuclear plant. Irma never could pass up cheap real estate - so she bought it. She also developed a crazy craving for broccoli - night and day she ate that cruciferous vegetable. Then her hair fell out and a lovely head of broccoli grew in. She wore it proudly, refusing to wear a hat - or move from her home. This is an improved photo. Basically I take photos and old vintage photos and "improve" them with mixed media. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello, and welcome to my colorful corner of the world! I'm Jo Potocki, a self-taught artist hailing from the vibrant city of Toledo, Ohio. My journey into art began as a personal exploration, a way to translate the whirlwind of ideas in my mind onto a canvas or paper or whatever. Each piece has a little story to tell. I paint on canvas, paper, and vintage photos, which are VERY special. Most are over 100 years old, and they are truly one of a kind. When you look at my art, you see the world through my eyes for just a bit. But you're also adding what your eyes see - so maybe that makes us friends.
