Raven Artwork

Inspired by the cheeky and characterful ravens of the Tower of London, I aim to capture the unique personality of these incredible, vibrant birds. I hope to intrigue the viewer with the depth of texture in the feathers and interesting colours and refraction that can be found in each one. Thread itself lends fascinating layers of texture on it's own and reflects light on it's sheen giving the piece a three dimensional quality that is unique to this medium. Thread is my favourite medium and it is perfect for animal fur, hair coats and feathers because it is already "half way there" with it's own form.
