I simply love curving lines, either as I find them in actual objects and as a geometric abstraction. When I create a curve that sweeps in just the right way, it satisfies something deep in my soul. This work shows a twisting ribbon suspended in space, but all that really matters to me is the curving line.

I first began working in collage when I wasn't to buy paints and canvas, but after trying other media I still find collage the most satisfying. I like the thought of turning ephemeral, mass-produced magazine images into something unique and lasting. There is a particular flow to certain curves that feels both right and compelling to me, like the sight of a road winding out of sight that beckons me to follow it. Curves appear prominently in my work because I want to take that road, to explore that line, wherever it leads.
