ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In order to start the counterfeit banknote group again, I embroidered Hong Kong banknotes of different values. This is a thousand-dollar note issued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation from 1989, also known as the Salted Egg Yolk. It is the last thousand-dollar note with British characteristics produced by HSBC before Hong Kong's return to China. This embroidery work is the prototype of the counterfeit banknotes created by me. It may be made into screen-printed counterfeit banknotes in the future.

She believed human design products can reflect their culture, life and heart. She used all the women's handcraft creating processes such as bead weaving, embroidery, weaving, hand sewing, tapestry making…. etc. Her work is always inspired by the procession of making, like her counterfeit money series with an underground workshop behind, tapestry making art projects to invite people to join making during the exhibition period. She believes making is the procession for people to observe yourself. She was born in Hong Kong, currently lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland.
