ABOUT THE ARTWORK
These small mixed media paintings are ‘attractive’ to me for several reasons: They have weight, that is they are heavy and take two hands to lift them. And secondly, they are thick, there are a few layers of paper and fabric sewn together to create a substrate before I start to add textures and materials. I want the viewer to stop for a moment, look at the work and get lost in the textures, paint, materials and perhaps find her or his own story.
