"Souvenir bleu" ("Blue memory") Artwork

For his “Under the Rainbow” series, Martin Coiffier uses photography and painting, drawing inspiration as much from nineteenth-century pictorial Romanticism, as from contemporary digital arts. In this series, he transforms forests into paintings of living energy, which oscillate between the figurative and the abstract. This musicality of colors and patterns invites us to daydream and lures us into the imaginary. The title of the series is inspired by the song "Over the rainbow" from Judy Garland in the feature film "Wizard of Oz". It talks about the dreams we would like to become true.
