ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by roses which I bought for my wife Angela. She really likes white roses. My still life style is close to that of Manet, who I admire for his use of bold contrasts and a limited number of shapes. I left the roses, themselves, semi-abstract, because I found out that in attempting to detail the flowers, the light values get diminished as well as the overall shape of the light shapes.
