About The Artwork
'Storm of Change' There a few pieces to note about this vibrant colourful piece. The first is, in true abstract style, it can be hung either landscape or portrait, it is deliberately not signed on the front to allow the owner to swap and change around. It is currently setup to hang in the position in the photo's, the hangers can easily be changed around. The process is interesting and a little different from my usual pieces. It is a board covered with gold leaf and then a layer of resin, the strips of colour are painted onto handmade paper that has been pasted onto a fabric. This is then layered into the main piece with more resin. There are parts that push through the resin, giving a lovely textured finish, whilst still having the beauty of the resin and the effect that is has on colour. The piece is about inclusivity and acceptance. A nudge to remind ourselves to be unapologetically who we are. Marcus Jake is a Full-time working Abstract & Mixed Media Artist. Currently doing a 12 month residency in Greenwich UK Educated in Bristol UK, where he studied & received his BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art & Certificate in Higher Education in Photography.
