Sunflowers and Dragons - Limited Edition of 5 Artwork

The story of this specific work, Sunflowers and Dragons, begins with the process of photographing a beautiful flower, to depict its pure essence, capturing its positive colour and the energy that the Sunflower is known for. In various cultures, the sunflower symbolizes aspects of good luck, happiness, nourishment, positivity, strength, loyalty, admiration, and long life. So it came to a surprise when I created this final artwork, which started as personal dive into what seemed to be an under-worldly journey, into a subconscious realm that was luring me deeper and deeper, and it felt like I had stepped over a threshold - sinking into a different reality. It was a dark but an intriguing place. The result is this artwork, and spending hours upon hours rotating, minimizing, repositioning, the original sunflower, over and over again, as if possessed, not knowing what the outcome would be, just moving with the uncertainty, and trusting the process - this for me has become the meaning of the new sunflower. The work is called Sunflowers and Dragons, alluding to both these stories, of positivity and happiness, as well as a curious fear, a personal surrender, and an alchemical transformation. The work allows one to lose oneself, hypnotized, mesmerized, taking a journey into new worlds.
